The outdoors is open for everyone to enjoy, regardless of the ways others may choose to define us or imagine what is possible of us. For the British collective Black Trail Runners, their ambition is to contribute significant change in both representation and participation of Black and minority runners around the globe.
With the founding belief that actions speak louder than words, BTR entered the first ever women of colour team at the adidas TERREX Infinite Trails race, taking place in Austria. Comprising Rachel Dench, Becky Devereux and Juliette Denny, the trio stepped onto a unique Gastein Valley mountain loop to complete – 21km, 35km or 44km.
From training upon the rain-soaked slate trails of Eryri / Snowdonia, the three trailblazers found a more testing prospect before them in Austria, but were not daunted by the summits they had to reach in their ambitions for BTR.
Join the trio in this story of laying down a new trail to inspire others to follow and adventure further with the freedom to define their own path into the joys nature offers us all.
